Colorado
Denver, Red Rocks, and Smaller Towns We Visited
July, 2021
Denver
Denver was a treat for our souls from the Yowza apartment to the neighborhoods, the many intriguing day-trip cities and State and National Parks. Read on for more on our stay!
Red Rocks
Like nothing you have seen before, the Red Rocks Amphitheater and surrounding area are guaranteed to make you gasp. Click below for our puny attempts to describe with words and photos.
Smaller Towns in Colorado
Denver is surrounded by charming, fun, smaller towns, once prosperous mining towns, now reinvented. Each of them has a unique character and are worth more than 1 visit.
Denver Botanical Gardens
An oasis of beauty and calm in the middle of the city. One of our favorite places ever!
Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge
Located in the high desert plains just outside of Denver, this park promises Buffaloe but what we got were the local equivalent of ground hogs and lots of birds. Well worth several visits.
Farmers Markets
We visited 3 very fine farmers markets while in Denver. The diversity of food products and artists was a pleasant surprise. We loved the City Park one so much we went back almost every week.
