We headed from our place in Fort Morgan to Orange Beach to get a better feel for why Orange Beach is such a hot spot. What we found were buildings of several stories, housing either a hotel or condo, lining the beach, each with its own private beach area.  Only one restaurant, which was packed of course. Public access points along the road do exist, but they are infrequent and where to park remained a mystery.  On the other side of the road are strip centers with all manner of fast food, beach paraphanalia, etc.  While the beach was in fact lovely, the surrounding area was not terribly interesting.
